Freelance Dialogue Audio Engineer
PitStop is seeking a highly motivated Freelance Dialogue Engineer to join our freelance roster and support our Voiceover Production team at our recording studios in Croydon, South London.
The successful candidate will be required to record dialogue/voiceover to exceptional technical and professional standards.
You will be supporting PitStop’s team of 70+ based in South Yorkshire and London, working on a range of video game titles from Indie to AAA. We’re looking for an experienced individual who is able to adapt to a variety of project-specific technical workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineer in-studio dialogue recording sessions including microphone setup and placement, for VO only, Motion Capture dialogue, and ADR.
Work alongside a Director and Motion Capture engineers, being solely responsible for the dialogue audio quality within the session.
Onboard specific project requirements to execute high-quality dialogue recording under the direction of the Lead Dialogue Engineer.
Liaise with the Pre and Post Production teams, where applicable, to communicate important information relating to the session.
Expertly communicate technical problems with the Director and Pre/Post.
Contribute to problem-solving and the development of pipeline solutions for the complex challenges that can arise within the game development cycle.
WHAT EXPERIENCE/SKILLS DO WE NEED
ESSENTIAL
Experience in a Post-Production recording environment, specialising in recording a range of Dialogue types to a high standard.
Expert knowledge of using industry-standard DAWs to record short-form voiceover. Specifically REAPER but otherwise Logic Pro and/or Pro Tools for transferable skills.
Proven reliability with time management and an understanding of the importance of meeting self-set and externally set targets.
Broad knowledge of studio recording techniques, microphones and placement, with a desire to achieve the highest production standards.
A proactive and resourceful approach to tackling technical challenges, seeking innovative solutions.
Ability to quickly and effectively onboard different project-specific technical workflows, in order to be able to work across several projects within a set time period.
DESIRABLE
Full cycle development experience working on a shipped AAA title in the Games Industry
Experience recording ADR, recording English synced to foreign language or time constraints
Experience of capturing scratch audio on a sound stage
BA/BSc degree in Audio Engineering/Game Audio/Audio Production or equivalent experience
Good proficiency in using Microsoft Office Software Packages and Google Docs

Working hours:
Freelance ad hoc according to project requirements.
Standard full day = 9.30am-6pm, 6-hour recording day.
Hours may differ on a project-by-project basis.
Rates:
£95.00 half day rate
£170.00 full day rate
This position will be held at our Voiceover & Motion Capture Studios in Croydon, South London.
